ELLESMERE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
General Committee meeting of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association -was held on Tuesday last. There TVaa a good attendance, and Mr A. R. Inwood, president, occupied the chair. A letter was received from Mr Glass, organising secretary for the North Island Farmers’ Union, suggesting that a meeting should be held for the purpose of forming a branch of the Union in the Ellesmere district, and it was decided that a public meeting of farmers be called at an early date, and that Mr Glass should be invited to attend, and that Messrs Inwood and B«r»ett, with Abe - Secretary, arrange detgjte The show privileges were ordered to oe advertised. It was decided to hold the home parade on Sept. 27, and Messrs A. J. Inwood, F. Coe, R. Graham', J. Lochhead, junx;, and J.. Henderson were appointed a committee to arrange matters, ft was resolved to defer firing the dates for general meetings at which addresses similar to those of last year will be given, until after the Farmers* Union meeting has been heM. Mr G. E. Rhodes presented his last year 1 * prize money to the Association,, and wa* accorded a-hearty vote of thanks. The Programme Revision Committee brought down their report, which, with a few amendments, was adopted. Judges were appointed in the several sections.
