A FINE INFLICTED. At tihe Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning, before Air H.W. Bishop, S.M., Messrs Jones and Sons were charged, on the information. of John Lomas, Inspector of Factories, with having on Saturday, July 2, allowed three of their employees, under eighteen years of age, to work after one o’clock in the afternoon, and also with having, on the same date, employed a person under the age of sixteen years without obtaining a certificate of fitness of such person for employment in the factory. ■ _ The defendants pleaded guilty to both charges. . ,■ Mr Lomas said that there were iur special features about the 6ase, and'Mr Bishop inflicted a fine of 20s and, costs in each case.
