ENTERTAINMENTS.
The bachelors of Lincoln held their annual ball in. the Druids’ Hall on Friday, There was an attendance of about seventy couples. Tho , catering . was , excellent. Dancing was kept up till the small hours of the morning. , . A “social” was held in the Native Hall, Tuahiwi, on Friday evening last, the occasion being the presentation of tho medals ain.d certificates won by the Natives (both old, and young) at the late Jubilee Exhibition. Captain Cossgrove ivasin the chair, and spoke of the very creditable position the pa occupied among the exhibitors. The Native School had won 3 silver medals and 3 certificates, while the adults had won 1 gold medal, 5 silver medals, and 9 certificates of merit. A good programme .of songs, duets, and bugle marches was gone through, and then the hall was cleared for dancing. ’ Diking the evening, refreshments were provided by Mrs Cossgrove, Mrs J. HI Uru, and Mrs Naihira. A vote of thanks to the band closed the proceedings.
