' Saturday. The weather this morning was a'.l that could be desired, and the tracks were in perfect orde-r; consequently, some fairly interesting work was done. Keith was out before breakfast with Sundial, Employer and Forward Guard, who were given light tasks. After breakfast, Whitirea brushed home over the last two furlongs of * steady round. Either, after cantering a circuit, was joined by Wepener, and'the pair went on ilor another one at three-quarter, speed. -Somerled, aione, galloped seven furlongs, while 'S'traybird and Favona covered the last of two circuits at a strong pace. Daisy Chain and Cadet were companions in a afcrongly-run six furlongs, and Marina, alone, strode pleasingly over -a. mile. Schnapps jumped rather indifferently several of the.big fences, refusing at the post and rail at the back, hut was eventuality got over. Rodara, after caiiteiring once round, was joined "by Jewel Gun-, and the pair galloped a strong mile, the latter appearing to advantage. Horn compassed two miles at a sound pace, moving freely, while Tauhei and Social Pest separately did useful work. Derringcotte (A. Hall) and Haydn (A. M'Morran) were associated in a schooling gallop over the hurdles,, throughout which the former appeared to advantage, while Haydn did not appear to relish the 'task, and had to be ridden hard at every obstacle. Dundas and Benzoin, galloped seven furlongs in,a pleasing manns-r, while Apremete traversed two rounds. Sa'nt Ilari-o finished fast over the last part of. -a steady round, and Clandeboye defeased Pall-as over half a mile (sprint. Goidspur galloped five furionga,, moving freely, while The tHempie compassed two circuits at halfspeed, . and Rex 11. and Surrey ifenced capitally over the hurdles,, and Pipi executed a strong.'round. * .Scottish 'Minstrel brushed over six furlongs, Tremor assisting him over the last, five, but the former was going ) the better of the pair at the finish. Right- Metal (M'Moxran), Natation (C'Connel) and Hairtrigger (Redmond) were.companions in a schooling task over the big' fence's. All fenced cleanly during the, first round except the lastnamed, who lost a good deal of ground over the obstacles. Oh coming to the post and rail at the top of the : course the last time, Right Metal got too close to the obstacle and fell, giving his -rider a nasty shaking. The latter, soon recovered, and, with as-sistance,-was able'to'walk to his lodgings. The Needle and Mars, in company, executed strong 'work. Huntingdon fenced capitally over several of the big fences, and the following horses were given useful exercise:—Stiathnairn. -Magnificent,/Maktua, Cora Linn, Angle, Venture and Will-o'-the-Wisp. Sunday. A hard frost delayed operations for some time The work done wag of an uninteresting character, as a whole. Cora Linn and Magnificent- galloped six furlongs, the former, who had an advantage in the weights, having the better of the go. Derringcotte put in two useful rounds, while Angle and Venture were companions in a similar task. Patrocius, with Mr W. Stead as- pilot, fenced creditably over the big fences, while 'Swagger, a newcomer, 'showed' himself to be a finished fencer over the hurdles. ■ Social Pest moved freely over a couple of strong half-pace circuits, and The' 'Hem-pie andi Apremete, separately, -did similar work. Amongst others who were out and did medium to slow pacing were:— Hotu, S'traybird, Whitirea, Lady Dundas, Lapidary and Daisy Chain.
