The Bank of England returns show that the ■ stock of gold coin and bullion is £35,204,000, the reserve £24,341,000, the proportion of the reserve to liabilities 46.27 per cent, notes, in circulation £30,747,000, public deposits £3,413,000, other deposits £44,090,000, Government securities £16,205,000, other securities £3,090,000. Three months' bills are discounted at 29-16 per cent. Victorian 4 per cent inscribed stock is quoted at 111, 3£ per cent 106; New Zealand 4 per cent 114|; Tasmanian 3£ per cent 104. The rest of the colonial stocks are unchanged. The English wheat markets are quiet. The Continental markets are lower and the American irregular, owing to favourable weather reports. Cargoes are steady; South Australian March and Victorian April shipments are quoted at 29s 3d per quarter. Copper is nominal. On spot £67 10s per ton, three months' £67 17s 6d per ten. . Supplies 22,943 tons, deliveries 22,010 tons,, stocks 27,395 tons, advised afloat 2200 tons. Tin.—On spot £ll6 10s per ton, three months' £ll3 10s per ten. Stocks 18,850 tons, on spot 5231 tons, afloat 3527 tons, deliveries 1760 tons. Iron, 54s 4£d per 1 ton. Lead, £ll 16s 3d per ton.
