Owing to the low price' of lead, the Proprietary Mine at Broken Hill closes each week from- eight o'clock on Saturday morning till eight o'clock on Monday morning. The. following returns are -to hand for last week:-—Leviathan 18oz 14dwt for 110 hours, Maori Queen, lloz Bdwt for' 103 hours, Al 230 z lOdwt for 125 hours, Greenstone Creek 12 oz for tho week, Greenstono Junction 16oz 15dwt, Pactohis 230 z 17dv/t, for 123 hours. The Bu'.ler Junction, dredge will not wash, Mondav. Through a fresh in 'the river, Grey River'only worked for a short period, consequently there was no wash' up. Tho small return from Pactolus dredge was caused through tho large quantity of tailings treated during the week. The return from Al dredge showsa marked increase. The dredge is working smoothly. Tho wash in Leviathan Company's claim is' deepening, and shows a slight improvement A further increase is expected from her this week. Of the Greenstono dredges I have to report that no further work on the Greenstone Gold pontoons, which were launched some time ago, has yet been commenced. A' large proportion of the machinery is on tho ground. . Greenstone Creek dredge worked most of the time last week in the old! Bun Tuck tail-race. She should be in the solid to-morrow. The Greenstone Junction return came as a surprise, only about lOoz being exoectcd. The dredge is m the solid, and is working smoothly, kelson Creek dredge, which was- laid up for a consixtoaoie time undergoing repairs, had a steady run during the week. The return for last week is not yet known-.
