The debate was. adjourned. •(Received August 3, 1.15 a.m.) In. the Senate a discussion has taken place as to what should be the qualifications of the High Commissioner in London. The Government holds that a man of good social standing, gifted with a diplomatic mind, should be selected 1 , rather than, one well up in commercial produce knowledge.
