ROAD BOARDS.
SPRINGS. The ordinary meeting of the Springs Road Board was held yesterday—all the members present. . Messrs G, Easterbrook and A. Amyes interviewed the Board, complaining of a water course that had been dammed' up by Mr-. Callaghan, and flooding their-laud. They asked the Board to have the obstruction removed. Mr Callaghan contended that water had been diverted from another water course. The Board decided that the dam should be removed if the diversion complained of was stopped, and the Clerk was directed to confer with others interested with, that,in view. A petition was received from. Messrs Parish and others complaining of the quantity of water brought down Day's Road drain, and asking the Board to put a'dam-across the drain opposite Goodrick's Bridge, with' a view of turning more water into Goodrick's drain; also complaining of the latter drain being blocked with gorse, etc.; .Messrs Go.odrick and Hamilton waited' on : the Board to protest against the proposal. The Board, undertook; to see that the Bridge water course was kept clean* in future. The Overseer's report was considered, and it was reported that a tender had been accepted for clearing water channels- {it Lincoln, and that a . new well had been put down on R.' 215 ; that poisoned -wheat and cats had been received from Ashburton, which wag reported to.be .very effective, and it was decided to order eight bushels more.of wheat and oats.'. Accounts amounting to £lO2 0s '3d were passedfor payment,-and-the-Board'.irose, •; \
