DUNEDIN ITEMS.
[From Our Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, April 20
Certain differences of opinion which arose between an officer of the Defence Force and a non-commissioned of the volunteer force in the Otago district some time ago, will, it is understood, be ventilated by a Court of Inquiry in this city next week. The Predident-elect of the Federated Commercial Travellers’ Association of Australasia, Mr Alex. Thomson, has accepted an invitation by the Victorian Government to attend the opening of the Federal Parliament, and will leave by the Warrimoo on Thursday. . According to Lord Ranfuriy, there will be no public function at Invercargill when the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York reach there. The Mayor may be presented, but there will be nothing beyond that. The object of the railway journey from Dunedin is to enable the visitors to see something of the country. ,
