MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

On Tuesday evening there was a larg'd attendance at the half-yearly meeting of tbd Oust Oddfellows’ Lodge. -The election or officers resulted, as .follows:,—N.G., BsrO A. D. Hassall; V.G., Bro B. Edge; wary den, Bro W. Pairweather; guardian, Bro! D. Cassidy; supporters to . N. 6., P.G.'S Bros Tallatt and O’Farrell; to V.G., Bros M’Kibben and Saundercock. It was resolved tb raise funds in aid cf the Indian famine by means of subscription lists. A new.schedule of prices for letting the hall was agreed upon. Bro Baxter, Grand Master,) was in attendance, and, in response to a/ . vote of thanks, complimented the Lodges on its satisfactory condition. ’ . The Gust Band of Hope met on when there was a large attendance! Mr Hassall presided. Vit At a meeting of the CuSb Friendshxjjj Guild, held on Friday, there was an uni usually large attendance, and the Rev F.' Stubbs presided. A vote wasi taken, with the result that a majority, ■ voted in:; favour of money. 1 The half-yearly meeting of the Foresters’ Court Woodford, No. 6583, was held in Ihs Orange Hall, Sewell Street, Kaiapoi, on June 25.
