SPARROW SHOOTING. The Harewood Gun Club held a serioh of sparrow-shooting competitions on- June . 27. The following are the results:—No. 1 Sweep, six birds—J. Burrows (killing all his birds) 1_; T. Higham. (5 kills), 2. • No. 2 Sweep, nine birds each, with trophy added, presented by Mr W. Lawrence, Papanui—W. Grant and A. C.- Wyatt tied for first place, killing all their birds, and in the shoot-off, W. Grant won. J. Burrows and A. W. Reid shot off for third place, W. Reid winning. No. )3 Sweep, six birds —W. Grant, J. Burrows and, A. T. Higham divided, killing five birds. After the mutch a collection of ±T la was taken up in aid of the fund for invalids who had returned from South Africa. The money was handed over to the Mayor of Christchurch.
