MONDAY'S WEATHER
Fkom Observations Taken at 9 a.m.
The barometric readings once more indicated a low pressure area to the southward—Cape Maria van Diemen 30.10, Wellington 29.67, Christchurch 29.77, Bluff 29.65. The winds were light and variable. Generally speaking, the weather was fine, though rain was falling at Nelson, and here and there fog was experienced. The shade temperature ranged from 64deg in the north down to 37 at the Bealey elevation, and 41 in the south ; Christchurch 52deg. The sea was rough or heavy at Cape Maria van Diemen, Spit, Castlepoint, and Timaru; moderate to smooth elsewhere. The barometer at Christchurch showed a slight falling tendency. _____„_
