METEOROLOGICAL.
THURSDAY’S WEATHER. From Observations Taken at 9 a.h. ' The barometric readings were fairly even the lowest being 29.69 at Kaikonra, Cane Maria Van Diemen 30.00, Wellington 29.73, Christchurch 29.86, Bluff 29.98. Light southerly winds prevailed, and to the northward there was fine weather at most places. Rain was being experienced, however at Kaipara Heads, Hokitika 1 , Jiealey, Christchurch, Timaru, Clyde, Queenstown and Invercargill. The shade temoerature was generally rather low —32deg at Bealey, and 43 at Christchurch. The sea was rough or heavy at Cane Mscia Van Diemen, Kaipara and Manukau Heads, Castlepoint and The Nuggets. At the Hanmer Springs there was fine weather. The barometer at Christchurch was rising slowly.
