" [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, May 11. The Crown Mine crushed 2681 tons of ore for gold valued at £6007. The yield of the Thames goldfields during April amounted to £47,882. For April last year the return was £43,056. MOUNT LYELL COMPANY. The following is the report of the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company, Limited, for the week ending April 26: Smelting Plant No. 1: In operation, preparing to erect new W.I. chimney-stack to serve boilers and stoves. ' Extension of Sampling Plant: Sundry internal work in progress. Smelting Plant No. 2: Two blast-furnaces in operation; Np. 11 furnace, detail work in hand, and Nos. 10 and 11 furnaces connected, with hot blast main now completed; Nos. 10 and 11 blowers, and Nos. 7 and 8 stoves also coupled up with game. Valley Pumping-Plant: Erection of duplicate engine, pump, and 12iu main completed, and preliminary run made with satisfactory results. Aerial Ropeway from Mine: Running one shift ’daily, delivering ore front mine ore bins to No. 2 smelting plant, and giving, very satisfactory results. Converter Plant; Corrugated iron roofing over extension of main building and Imingroorn completed; erection of stands for new converter vessels in progress on foundations; 11,680 tons of blister copper consigned to date, being 654 tons for the current halfyear. ~
