ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Ah inouest wa.s held at Timarri yesterday, touching the death of Mr William Peter Grant, found dead in a bedroom of the Empire Hotel the previous day. Dr C. E. Thomas, who had made a post, mortem examination, gave evidence that the cause of death wfts the bursting of an aneurism on the lungs, causing death by suffocation. The jury returned a verdict to the effect that death was due to natural causes. The Coroner made some remark on the fact that some hours were -allowed to elapse between the time that deceased was called and the bursting open of the bedroom door. Two lads* rambling along the beach, near Patiti Point, Timaru, yesterday, found, some yards from high water mark, the body of an apparently newly-bom infant, which appeared to have been in the water for some days. They informed the police, and the body was taken to the police station.
