[Per Press Association.] • DUNEDIN, May 30. The entries for the Winter Show total 720, against 979 last year. _ The falling off is mainly in tho bread section. 'The statue to be erected to the late Rev Dr Stuart arrived by the Matatua, and a start has been, made with the erection of the pedestal. : At a ■ meeting of the Ocean Beach Domain/ Board, it was decided to again impress.upon the Government the necessity of at once taking action to protect the lives and property of residents on the flat from the danger of the sea breaking in. The Board disclaimed any responsibility in this matter fdr either,what had happened or might happen in future. In addition to claims made by property-owners for damage[ the St Kilda Council has sent' a claim for £SO to the Government for damage by. the, recent inrush of the sea. A neat; little steamer is being built in Dunedin for Te Anau Lake, and is expected to : be ready by the next tourist season.
