FIRES.
[Pee Press Association.] HAWERA, May 30. Tie Manaia Flour Mill, owned by Mrs Milroy, was totally destroyed by fire on Sunday morning. The building and plant were insured in tbo South British Office for .£9OO. A number of settlers who bad grain stored were uninsured, and are heavy losers. Moots Hubbard and Tait bad wheat stored valued at .£4OO, on which they had a policy for JB3OO, but, it is stated, let it lapse a.Jew days before the fire. ■ WELLINGTON, May 30. A fire broke out last night in the nursery at Government House. The hearthstone got red-hot and ignited the timbers. A great deal of trouble was-ex-perienced in locating the fire and it was not extinguished until a good deal of damage had been done to the furniture, especially in the dining-room below, which in common with the rest of the house had only justibeen renovated.
