HOCKEY.
A meeting of hockey" players was held on Wednesday for the purpose of forming » hockey club for the Eastern district. It was unanimously decided to form a club, to be called the East Belt Hockey Club, and nineteen members joined at once. The following officers were elected : —Presii dent, Rev J. Orchard; vice-presidents, Messrs C. S. Howard, W. Harris, S. Sherris and P. Collier; auditor, Mr W. Seed; secretary, Mr W. A. Roberts ; captain, Mr H. Goodman; vice-captain, Mr W. Sherris, The first game was played on Saturday.
