WEST MELTON SCHOOL.

The annual distribution of prizes in connection with the West Melton School took place on Mondays and, as usual, attracted a large attendance. During, the.afternoon various games were indulged in, and in the evening the children, their parents and friends were entertained.at tea by the ladies of the district. Mr J. W. Walker, the chairman of the. School Committee, in presenting the prizes congratulated the district on the success achieved by the school at the last examination. This uniform success was due largely to the unremitting and assiduous labours of the teachers, to whom he desired to convey the sincere thanks of the parents. The customary votes of thanks terminated the proceedings. The following is the prize-list;—Standard VI.—L. Walker, M. Walker, M. Nelson, W. Walker, W. Watson and C. Scott; sewing, L. Walker and.M.
