TO THE EDITOK.
gin,—Your leaderette of August 31 was read by me, in common with others, with feelings of the liveliest satisfaction. The law, as laid down by our respected judge, ia that the Christchurch Racecourse is, by virtue of the original Queen’s Crown grant to the late Provincial Council of Canterbury, a public racecourse absolutely. The Canterbury Jockey Club are merely, trustees and custodians for the public, and" have no proprietary rights whatsoever.—l. am, &c., * PEESERVITAS. '
