AUCKLAND NEWS.

[Per Press Association.! AUGKL MSTD, March 25. The Chairman of the Harbour Board, Mr W. J. Napier, left for Wellington by the Gairloch to-day. Ho ■ will interview the Premier regarding the erection of a now Admiralty house, at Auckland and other matters of importance to the port. There appears to be a gang of burglars operating in the city. The private residence of Mr David Caldwell, of Macky Logan, Steon and Co., has been broken into for the second lime within a fortnight. Tho house was completely ransacked, and a number ox articles were wantonly destroyed.
