MINING.
Tiie following head office report; of the Mount Lyeir Mining- and Railway Company, for the week ending- March 6, lias been received from Diuiediu from our special correspondent:—“ Smelting- plant —Furnaces Nos. 1 and 1! have been .running continuously. Extension of smelting plant—The framework of the building over the extension of the boiler department has been completed and the rooting finished. The retaining wall of the storage bins has been completed. The fitting parts of two boilers wero recently received. The erection of tho corner columns of No. 3 furnace has been started. Converter plant—Has started eontiuous work during the twenty-four hours with one vessel.”
