[From Our. Cobrespondent.l WELLINGTON, March 25. The Government is negotiating for the purchase of five or six estates in Canterbury, but no particulars are available. Mrs Seddon and six other officers of the Wellington Woriien’s Social and Political League loft by Ithe Talune this afternoon for Christchurch ttor the purpose of opening a branch of the league. They were accompanied by the Minister of Public Works, the Hon W. Hall-Jones.
