LAND SALES. Messrs J. T. Ford and Co offered by | auction on Saturday the Westwood Estate !in the Springfield district. As no bid was : elicited for the property as a whole it was , then offered as subdivided, but as .£8 10s ; per acre was the highest bid for the home- : stead block it was withdrawn as were also two other blocks at £9 10s per acre. Messrs H. Matson and Co. sold by auction the farm of Mr E. M’Meekin, at Springston, containing seventy-nine acres, at £lO per i acre, to Mr H. C. Forward, of Townsend. HOESE SALES. There were only medium entries at the 1 horse sales on Saturday, and nothing but inferior to medium fight animals came forward. There was absolutely no demand : for these, and sales were very difficnlt to ; effect even at the low prices asked.

PIGS AND POULTRY. yardings of pigs on Saturday were the largest for some considerable time. The; demand was quite equal to the supply and high prices ruled. Poultry of all Muds was scarce and those requiring good table birds were unable to obtain a sufficient quantity. The following wore prices realised: — Pigs Sows 21s to 47s fid, porkers 18s to 275," good stores Ils 6d to 19s 6d, suckers and weaners 7s 3d to Ils Gd. Poultry—Roosters 3s to 4s 6d, hens 2s fid; to 4s, ducks 3s Gd to 5s 6d, goslings 4s 3d to os 9d. All at per pair.
