[Pub Pbess Association.! DUNEDIN, Mat 9. The charges of broaches cf the Beer Duty Act ' against C. F. Greenalade, of Speight and Go,, and Allan Davis were before the Police Court co-day and were diutrtisssd. It appeared that Mr Davie had brought from the Soslyn district for a grocer an empty keg of beer to be filled at the brewery. Ho called back for it, but it was not ready. Ho called a second time, and seeing the keg standing on a platform took it away, tho cellarman being away at the time getting the stamp. Tho grocer happened to call in and he was given tha stamp, but ha did not affix io in the proper place. It wan pointed out that a firm that paid £7OOO yearly as beer duty would not be likoly to wilfully neglect putting on a two-and-sixponay stamp. Tha Horticultural Society's chrysanthemum show, held to-day, vraa the finest yet hold in Dunedin. The attendance was large. Tha display, especially in Japanese varieties, was very fine. The challenge cap was won by Mr James Beadle. Messrs Le Cren and Perry, of Timaru, sent in fine exhibits, the former taking some of the leading prizes.
