OHEISTOHTOCH. Pbidat, March 8. (Before Messrs B. Westenra and G. G. Stead, J.P.’s.) Drunkenness.—- For this offence John Nixon, who did not appear, was fined 10a and costs, in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. Damaging Potatoes. —Francis Wood (twelve) and Raymond Wood (ten) were" charged with having, on Deo. 14, at St Albans, damaged a quantity of potatoes the property of . John Dalton. Mr Donnelly, who appeared for the prosecutor, stated that the boys were brought up a month ago, and Mr Bishop, who heard the case, ordered their parents to pay a fine of £2. The fine had not been paid. Tho case was further adjourned for a week to enable the Stipendiary Magistrate to deal with it.' SOUTH RAKAIA. Fbida,t March 8. ' (Before Messrs L. Oxley, W. L. Allan and 0. A. C. Hardy. J.P.’s.) Breach op the Licensing Act.—Finlay Campbell, licensee of the Cbertsey Hotel, was charged with selling liquor to other than travellers on Sunday, March 5. Sergeant Moller prosecuted and Mr Crisp appeared for defendant. After evidence had been hoard defendant was fined 20a and costs £1 18s 6d, hia license to be endorsed.
