ANNUAL DISTRICT MEETING. The district meeting resumed its sittings yesterday in the St Asaph Street church. Affairs connected with the Wellington church occupied considerable attention. Eventually it was decided that theßsv H. B. Redstone should be stationed at Wellington during the next year, with power to deal with tho church there in conjunction with the District Committee. The Revs J. Hosking and J. Wriglay were appointed to draw up a resolution in reference to the matter placed before the meeting by tbe deputation from the Christchurch Prohibition League. The Rsv S. Macfarlane, honorary secretary for the past year, presented hia report, which was adopted, and a vote of thanks w&s psssad'to him. He was reappointed. Matters concerning the state of accounts of the book room ware referred to the District Committae for adjustment. On the recommendation, of .the committee appointed for the purpose, the following resolution was adopted: —" An appeal having been made to this meeting by the representatives of the Christchurch Prohibition League on tho question of the relation of tho Church to the liquor traffic and the gambling evil, in tho opinion of this meeting it is utterly inconsistent for a professing Christian in any way to engage either in the manufacture or sale of intoxicating liquor, or aid the gambling evil. The rules of our churches preclude anyone from being affiliated with us in Church membership who is identified in any way with either of the aforenamed evils.” The following ie the final draft of stations as adopted by the meeting:—Addington, Rev C. Penny; Auckland, Rev A. Paters; Christchurch, Ravs J. Hosking and S. Macfarlane (supernumerary); Mount Eden, local arrangement; Napier,' Rev J. W. Worboys; Oxford. Rev G. Hounssll; Fahiatua, Rev J. W, Griffin; Raugiora, Rev J. Edwards; Reeftoa, Rav S. Potts; Richmond, Rev A. W. Ashcroft; Waipawa, Rev J. J. Pendray; Wellington, Rev H. B. Redstone; Westport, Rev J. Benning; Woodvillo, Rev J. Wrigley. The business not having been completed at 6 p.m., the meeting adjourned until 9 a.m. to-day, ' The concert gvfjn last Thursday will be repeated to-moripw. evening in the St Asaph Street-CHfirch.' !
