ST AUGUSTINE LODGE. At the monthly, meeting of the $6 Augustine Lodge, held last evening in the Hall, Manchester Street, the financial report and balance-sheet for the past year were presented. Moreover, during the .year a considerable amount of refurnishing had been done. The report and balance-sheet, were unanimously adopted, members expressing their gratifU cation in having such substantial proof of the growing prosperity of the Lodge. In the course of the evening the question of establiahing a St Augustine Masonic Scholarship or scholarships was brought forward and heartily entertained, and a formal notice of motion was given for the next meeting of the Lodge. Those of the newly-elected officers who were absent from the installation meeting in January were duly invested with their insignia by the Immediate Fast Master, W. Bro A. Millar, In the absence of the Grand Lodge Superintendent, the Grand Junior Warden, B.W. Bro Charles Hull, was requested to present Bro A. Millar, on behalf of the Lodge, with a Past Master’s jewel. Eulogistic reference was made to the zeal and ability displayed by Bro Millar in the discharge of the duties pertaining to his office, and the hope was expressed that the “ well done ” of the brethren would stimulate him to steady continuance of his efforts for the welfare of the Craft. Bro Millar, to whom the presentation was an utter surprise, made a feeling acknowledgment. The jewel, a really beautiful specimen of the goldsmith’s art, was designed and manufactured by Bro A. Gunderson.
