SOUTH WAIMAKARIRI RIVER BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the South Waimakariri River Board was held at 2 p.m. yesterday ; present—Mr W.Boag (chairman) and Messrs J. Glanville, H. W. Peryman, R. M. Taylor, E, W., England, J, C. Atkinson, T. Wilson, C. F. Money and H. Crooks.
On the motion of Mr Peryman, seconded by Mr Wilson, Mr W. Boag was unanimously re-elected chairman for tho ensuing year. Mr Boag, in returning thanks, said he would do his beat for the Board during his term of office. The Overseer reported that there was a heavy flood in the river on Feb. 4, but no damage was done to the upper or lower works. There was a small flood bn Fab. 11, but no damage resulted. The men started to put in the floating groins on Mason’s Flat on Monday. He considered that it would be advisable to get twenty trucks of stone from the railway for the new wing to the groin at the Seven-mile Peg. The report was adopted. It was decided to have the two small floating groins at the Seven-mile Peg repaired, and to put in a new wing on the large groin at the Seven-mile Peg, at a cost not exceeding *B2O. It was resolved that the Board should make its annual visit to the upper works on Friday, Feb. 23. After disposing of some routine business, and passing accounts, the meeting terminated.
