[Special to Press Association.) SYDNEY. Jan. 3. The following constitute the cricket team which visits New ZealandWatford, Davis, Searle, Austin, Camphin, Moore, Gould, Miller, A. Noble, E, Noble and Cowley, The team, which is regarded as a strong one, will be under the management of Mr C. Davis. MELBOURNE, Jan. 3. The Cricket Council has declined to extend its patronage to the Indian team expected next summer, as it has already been promised to a team which Lord Sheffield is expected to bring out. The second innings of the South Australian team closed for 281 runs. A. Jarvis contributed 64 and G. Qiffen 103. The Victorian team, requiring 372 to avert a defeat, have lost one wicket for 18 runs.
The Auckland team arrived from Dunedin by last night’s express, and was met and welcomed by a large number of Canterbury cricketers. The team was driven to the Clarendon Hotel, and will practice this morning at Lancaster Park. The game again sc Canterbury will commence on Friday at 10.30 a.m. The following will play in a match, Papanui against Sydenham, at Papanui on Saturday. Papanui—Horners (4), Greer, Eeid, Cotton, "jesson, H. Matson, Leversedge and Fisher. Sydenham—Porde, Hitchings, Young (2), Robson, Halliday, Round, Skelton, Forrester (2) and Waddell.
