At a meeting of shareholders in the Greta collieries, the accounts, showing a debit balance of iJ20,000, wore rejected, and a committee was appointed to consider the propriety of suspending work till trade revives. It was stated that the excessive price paid to tbe miners rendered the payment of a dividend remote. SYDNEY, Jan. 1. At tho Kerra, Mount Pleasant and South Clifton colleriea reductions in. the hewing rates are likely to ha accepted. Speaking at a representative meeting of miners, the chairman said tho nationalisation of the mines was the only salvation, for the men.
