MARKET REPORTS.

There was a very satisfactory attendance at the Eangiora market yesterday. Mr Buss (associated with the New Zealand Land Company) reports Laving sold at the Central Tarda Fat sheep, 14s 6d to 16a 6d; cross-bred ewes, in lamb, 10a 6d to 12s fid; merino do, 6s fid to 7s fid; beef, equal to 22s per 100 lbs; pigs, porkers, 15 to 18b ; small stores, 8a to 11s; weauere, 6s to Bs. At the North Canterbury public ealeyards there was an entry of 8000 sheep, 180 pigs, and 140 head of cattle. Sales were conducted by Messrs A. P. Tutton, F. O. Tabart, H. Matson and Co., Pyne.and Co., Miles and Co., and Todhunter and Jennings. Prices were as follow;—Crossbred two-tooth wethers from 10s to. 16s; cross-bred ewes in lamb, 15s j fat cross-breds up to 16s Id; crossbred hoggets, 8a to lls lid; merino wethers, 7s 7d to 8s fid; merino ewes, 4s fid to 6s. Cattle.—Springers, £A to £S 6s; cows, £3 10s to £Q 10s; store cows, JSI 10a to £5 10s; store steers, £3 6s to £5 2s fid; heifers, £2 to £3 12s fid; year to eighteen-month-old cattle, £2 lls to £2 14s $ yearlings, &1 to £2; calves, 23s 6d. Pigs.— Backers, 6s fid to 10s; stores, 7s fid to 16s; porkers, 17s fid to 295; bacon pigs, 84b fid to 48s fid. At the produce sales: Sheepskins, 2s fid to 6s fid; pelts, la 2d, rendered fat, l|d per lb; fowls, la fid to 3s per pair; seed wheat, 2s 4d to 2a 9d per bushel; chick wheat, 2a to 2s 8d; oats, 2a 2d to 2a 4d; peas, 3a 3d; beans, 2b 4d to 2a 8d; ryegrasS seed, 2s fid to 8a fid; bran, 3s; sharps, 6s; potatoes, 6s to 8a; dour, 16s per bag; onions, 2s to 2s fid per string; timber (birch), fis fid to 6s 9d per 100 ft; pine do, 9s. At Messrs Bowman and Son’s produce yards the business done was satisfactory. Potatoes sold from fis 9d to 8s 3d per bag ; flour, second quality, 18s fid to 16s pe* sack; carrots, Is 9d to 2a per sack; grass? seed, 2s 3d to 2s 9d per bushel; bran, 3d per sack; sharps, 6s 3d do; poultry 2s 3d to 2a 9d per pair, roosters up to 3s 4d, ducks 3s 2d. The sale of sundries included a large assortment of goods, most of which found purchasers at fair rates. There was a good entry of sheep—about 6000—at the Tmwald Yards on Tuesday, but 'the attendance of buyers was below the average, and the sale, except for fat stock, was anything but brisk. There were no fat cattle yarded, and butcher* hardly know where to get beef to supply their weekly demands. The fat sheep entered sold fairly well, according to theis quality. Some fair two and four-tooth cross-brada made 16s, medium sorts a littlq less; a small line of nice qnality merinos made lie 3d, inferior sorts from 5s to 7ai Store sheep looked bad on account of the late wet weather and scarcity of feed, and were difficult to sell. Good cross-bred ewes in iamb sold at >rom lls to I6j, merino do from 6a Id to 7s 2d, cross-bred lambi 8s lOd to 12e. Cattle—Milch cows up to i'6 2s fid, springers £5 15s to £7 2s 6(1 Pigs— k bout a dozen were yarded, and told fairly well at 26s for porkers.
