FIRES.

GREAT FIRE IN OREGAN. [Special to Press Association.] [Received Sept. 5, at 10,45 a.m.] WASHINGTON, Sept. 4. Sixteen blocks in Dallas city, Oregon, have been burned. The loss is 1,000,000d015. [Per Press Association.] MARION, Sept, 5. A large flour mill at Sanson belonging to Mr Clover, was burned down at midnight. The cause of the fire is unknown. Nothing was saved; but the loss is covered by insurance. DUNEDIN, Sept. 5. A five-roomed house in Maitland street, owned by Mr James Hawkins, and occupied by Mr James M'Kechnie, was burned down last night. The house was insured for the sum of £IOO. The furniture was uninsured, but most of it was saved.
