CHARITABLE AID.
TO THE EDITOEi S IB> The facts which I have made public demand inquiry. Anonymous “friends” will not intimidate me. My tender was sent in answer to a circular from the Board. The Board evidently dislikes publicity in the matter of elections to salaried offices. All salaried offices should be publicly advertised, ospacially the Inspector of Asylums' appointment. The Government sets a bad example in appointing a medical man to a salary of £1250 without public advertisement.— I am, &c., IV. E. HACON.
