WRECK OF THE HAURAKI.

WELLINGTON, Per. 28. Intelligence has just been received that the s.s. Hauraki, from Greymouth, coal laden, foundered at 2 a.m., twenty miles from. Cape Farewell. The crew landed safely. The cause of the disaster is not yet known.
The Hauraki is owned by Captain Harvey and the Engineer. She is insured in the Victoria Office for <61200; reinsured—South British <6450, National <8250, Standard .£125., Value, <63000 beyond the insurance. The Hauraki was bound for Waitara. The Hauraki was a boat of 90 tons register, and was built at the North Shore, Auckland, by Mr Holmes about twelve
years ago, being at first a paddle steamer. She was some few years ago altered to a screw steamer.
