DRAINAGE BOARD.

A special meeting of the Christchurch ; District Drainage Board was held at 8 p.nu ■yesterday, when a resolution striking a rate of |d in the £ for Christchurch Ifor the year ending Dec. 31, 1886, was rconfirmed. The members present were Messrs F. de C. Malet (Chairman), A. B. G. gEhodes, F. S. Malcolm, J. H. Hewitt, S. Panning, F. H. Barns, and W. H. osking. W; An apology for non-attendance was Received from Mr’W. Vincent. Mr W. Fiesher interviewed* the Board, mid drew attention to the necessity for prodding better drainage for certain land at Richmond. S ~On the motion of Mr Barns, seconded by |S||r Hewitt, the Board went into Committee |t§ consider certain financial matters.
