J, Herrick consented to art a« a delegate from the Springs Road Hoard, and to represent it* vi<rws at the proposed interview with the County Council.—From the Chairman of tho Greenpark Sparrow Clnh, forwarding an account -Cl'l Is Tel, for poisoning wheat for the destruction of small birds, and requesting that a chwjiip for half the amount, A!S 0$ Sd, might ho forwarded in accordance with a previous arrangement come to on this matter, lire Clerk was directed to forward a cheque for the amount.—■ From Mr Georgs Rosa. Greenpark, notifying the sale of his property in that district. The Chairman stated that in accordance with the understanding come to last Board day, he had, accompanied by the Surveyor, gone over the formation now being carried out on the South road, and had directed that the last 50 chains of the present contract should be wade the fall width of tho road at an increase of cost of 2s fid per chain. The Chairman'* action was approved of by the Board.—The Chairman further stated that ho had had an interview with the Chief Surveyor respecting the read from WithoM’s section in the Belwyn river hod to connect with Elstob’a rood, and had been informed by that officer that the Board had a perfect right to make the road in question, provided such road was made within one chain from tho top of the terrace.—Tho Surveyor’s report was read and considered, and he was directed to call for tenders, returnable on Friday, Dec. 5, for cutting ditches on tho road to WitbeU’s section, such tenders to he considered in Christchurch on Saturday, Dec. G; to call for tenders, returnable next Board day, for shingling tramway reserve; to arrange for the transfer of the contract for the No, 2 river from Bennett to Cordner; to worn persons not to cut willow* on any property under tee Board’s control without permission, and to immediately report any such cases as may come under his notice to tee Chairman; to pat an additional row of pipes across the Springs and Coal Tramway, near Mathews’, to serve certain gone notices, and to arrange with the contractors on the South road for a continuance of tee contract for 40 chains farther south. —A deposit receipt for j 64000, maturing on Dec. 19, was directed to be disposed of as follows: £WO to current account, .£4OO on fixed deposit for three months, and .£3900 for 12 months.—Accounts were passed for payment amounting to .£lO4 Bs.—ln consequence of the Christmas holidays, the next meeting of the Board was ordered for Dec. 23.—The Board then adjourned.
