A CASE FOR THE SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.
TO THB BDITOB. Slß,—ln your report of the meeting of the Committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals held yesterday, I see that the indefatigable and useful member, Mr Weston, enquired if tho Inspector Tinted the elaughteryards. When the matter has been considered, the Inspector should pay a visit to a slaughtered off the North road, where he can see 60 to 100 sheep and some cattle, some of which are kept from Wednesday to Wednesday in a small paddock, so closely eaten down that the sufferings from starvation of the poor brutes must Bw very great. Thin seems a case of apparent cruelty to animals, and one well worth, the humane consideration of the Bociety. I am, Jb., AN OBSfiliffEß. March 6.
