Snt,—Your correspondent "Boa Yivact" may bo glad to know that he can get from Messrs Hardwieke, the well-known scientific publishers in Piccadilly, London, not only two books (the authors' names I. cannot a r ; this moment recall), which give accurate descriptions of the fungi of Great Britain, with directions how to tost them, and to discern the edible from the poisonous kind*, as well as how to cook the former; but also two canvasmounted sheets, bearing minutely accurate coloured pictures of the poisonous and the edible fungi of that island. lam not aware whether a book has been published dealing with the indigenous fungi of New Zealand in a similar way.
