Application eob New License. —An application was made by Mr A. Perry, solicitor, on behalf of Charles Boyce for a license for the Qrosvenor Hotel, a newly-erected house on the Mill road, Waimate. _ He presented a numerously signed petition in support. The Eev Thomas Fee, Wesleyan minister, presented a petition also numerously signed egainst the extension of the number of licensed houses in the Borough, and addressed the Court in support of the Petition. Mr Perry replied. The Bench, after some discussion,, stated that they bad determined there should bo _no\inoreaso in the number of licensed houses in-Waimate, they had intimated as much, sis months before, when Mr Middleton sought: to nfeerwhether a license would bo granted if ho should build a house. The application was refused.
