WAIMATE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

An ordinary meeting of the above Council was held on Monday evening last. Correspondence was read—From Mr F. Mi Biokman, offering his services as auctioneer for sale of municipal reserve leases. From Hayton and Co. re channelling and kerbing. The Council resolved to take no notice of tins and future irregular applications of a like nature. From H. Bateman re sinking a well on Fire Brigade reserve. Besolved as in preceding application. From Canterbury Fire Insurance Association, stating that no further sums were available for Fire Brigade purposes. From the Minister of Education, stating that the resolution of the Council respecting the composition of the Timaru High School Board, would receive consideration. From the Town OJerk, Christchurch, re Sunday trading. It was resolved that the Waimato County Council would co-operate with the Christchurch Council in the matter. From the Postmaster-General, stating that the appointment of a letter-oarrier would be taken into consideration when the Estimates for the ensuing financial year were being prepared.
