District, Nelson, adjoining Canterbury. No. I—THE HOMESTEAD BLOCK, ABOUT 24,446 ACRES. Of this, about 4411 acres are subdivided into 19 paddocks, of various sizes, the remainder being one large enclosure. About 2600 acres have been ploughed and laid down in grass, , and 4CO acres are in turnips. The plantations of conifers and hardwood mixed, cover about 100 acres. The garden is about 3 acres, and well stocked with fruit trees. There is a two-roomed shepherd’s hnt on it, with small garden. STOCK—ABOUT 15,000 SHEEP. No. 3.-THB HURUNUI BLOCK, ABOUT 6851 ACRES. Enclosed within fences and the Hurunni river. About SO acres have been ploughed and sown with English grass. STOCK-ABOUT 5000 SHEEP. No. 4.—THE PAHAU BLOCK, ABOUT 5675 acres. A considerable portion of this block is rich swamp, 120 acres of which have been cropped with oats, and are now sown with rape on the stubble; about 50 acres are in English grass (once ploughed), the remainder being drained and sown with grass. A paddock of about 180 acres is fenced off, the rest of the block being undivided. There is an excellent stockyard on this block, and a thriving plantation of about eight acres. All enclosed in a ring fence. 50 acres have been ploughed and sown with grass, and 80 acres swamp have been surface sown, and fenced off in a paddock of 150 acres. STOCK —2000 SHEEP. No. B.—NORTH CAPE BLOCK, ABOUT 1610 ACRES, Of which ahont 650 acres have been ploughed and sown with English grass. 150 acres swamp, drained and sown, and 100 acres swamp partly undrained. STOCK—2OOO CROSS-BRED SHEEP. No. 9.—SOUTH CAPE BLOCK, ABOUT 796 ACRES, Of which ahont 358 acres have been ploughed and sown with grass, and 100 acres are rich swamp, drained and sown. There is a ploughman’s hut of two rooms, and fourhorse stable, also a plantation of 3 acres, on this block. STOCK—IOOO CROSS-BRED SHEEP. AGRICULTURAL FARMS.
