I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE, pursuant to th ' provisions of “ The Canterbury Waste land Act, 1866," that an application has been lodged ii the Land Office, Christchurch, by WILLIAD SAUNDERS, as holder of Pasturage Licenses Nos 273 and 378, Class 3, to have the said licenses cancel led, and in lieu of the said License No. 273, to havi two separate licenses issued; one of which, compris iug 6650 acres, or thereabouts, of the land former!; held under License No. 273, shall be in the name o NICOLO RADOVE; and the other, comprisinj •4350 acres, or thereabouts, being the remainder o the land formerly held under License No. 273 shall be in the name of JOHN M'GREGOR; ant in lieu of the said License No. 378, to have tw; separate license issued, one of which, comprising 2230 acres, or thereabouts, of the land formerly hek under Licenses No. 378, shall be in the name o; NICOLO RADOVE; and the other, comprising 2770 acres, or thereabouts, being the remainder o: the lands formerly held under License No. 378 shall be in the name of JOHN M'GREGOR. ERGOT IN GRASSES, PRIZE E S S A Y , THE Canterbury' Agricultural and Pastoral Association offer a PRIZE OF TWENTY GUINEAS For the best Essay on the recent appearance of the disease called Ergot in Eye and other Grasses, embracing the Nature of the Disease, the Causes, and the best mode of Curing or Preventing the same. The Essays to he sent in to the Secretary not later than JUNE 1, 1876. Each Essay to lie distinguished by a motto, and to he accompanied by a sealed envelope with the same motto on the outside, and the writer’s name enclosed.
