[Per Gretillb’s Telegram Company, Reuter’s Agents.) Auckland, February 10, (Via Tauranga). The miner, Edward Sullivan, who was hurt by the fall of a tree in Tapu, is dead. A ton of specimens from the Caledonian Mine yielded 3500 ounces of gold. Another dividend has been declared. For the Waikato election Messrs il'Phersou •nd Kirkwood were the candidates. The return of the former is certain. Nelson, Feb. 13. Sir David Monro has been declared elected for Motueka by flic casting vote of the Returning Officer. The return on Saturday gave an error of six in the number polled at Waimea West. For the Waimea election to-day, the numbers polled at present are —shepherd, 86 ; Baigent, 53. Other returns have to come in.
