Public Notice. TIMBER CUTTING LICENSES. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Commissioners of the Waste Lands Board that parties are unlawfully cutting timber on Bunks' Peninsula, Talbot and Havewood forests, and other parts of the province NOTICE is hereby given, that any person' found cutting timber on any of the Waste lands ofthe Crown, without a license previously obtained* from this Board, will bo proceeded against in pursuance ofthe Regulations now in force, within this province. A SALE of Town Lands in the above towns, will take place at the Land Office at Christchurch, at noon, on Monday, tho 19th January, 1557. Maps of both Towns may be seen at the Land Office. . . \^ A map of the town of Akaroa may also^ie seen on application to the Resident Magistrate at Akaroa, after the first of December next. A map of the Town of Timaru may also be seen at the Survey Office, Talbot Forest. Persons wishing to have sections put up to auction on the above day must apply to the Waste Lands. Board, on or before the 29th December, 1856, and pay to the Treasurer a Deposit of 10 per cent, of the upset price., The Board sits Mondays and Thursdays. By order of the Superintendent. THE Provincial Government aie prepared to receive tenders for the building of two bridges, and two culverts on the great north road, between Raven's creek and the River Ashley. Plans and specifications of the intended works may be seen on application to Mr. Revell, Kaiapoi, on and after Satin-day, November Bth. Parties wishing to contract for the above works are requested to attend with their tender-, at the Kaiapoi Hotel, .at twelve o'clock on S turday, Nov. loth, 1856.
