Magistrate's Court, Arrow- ' town. The monthly sitting of the Magistrate's Court at Arrowtown was held on Friday last before Mr H. A. Young, S.M. —Breaches of the Shops and Offices Act.— David Christie, representative for Arthur Barnott (Ltd.), was charged that being the occupier of a shop and carrying on business as a draper in Arrowtown, did fail to close his shop at 6 p.m. on Thursday, 20th April. The same defendant was similarly charged in respect of failing to close his shop at G p.m. on Monday, 24th April, and also on Tuesday, 25th April. Defendant did not appear, and His Worship imposed a fine of £2, with 7s coats on each information-in ali, £7 U. Warden's Court, Arrowtown. The monthly sitting of the Warden's Court was held at the Courthouse, Arrowtown, on Friday last before Mr 11. A. Young, Warden. The following was the business ttansneted :
Peter Hunter—Adjourned application for an extended river claim on Arrow River, extending from Brackens Gully to Swipers' Gully. No appearance.—Struok out. Poter Hunter—Adjourned application for absolute surrender of special river claim, No. 1104, Arrow River. No appearance.— Struck out. William Thompson and Edward Thompson —Application for absolute surrender of extended alluvial claim, No 955, and tail race, No. 962, Arrow River.—Surrender accepted. James Anderson, senr., and James Anderson, junr. -Application for certificate of protection for six months over extended alluvial claim No. 1161, Macetown.—Referred to Minister for approval.
