CUSTOMS FRAUDS.
LONDON, August 15. The ‘Daily Telegraph’s’ New York correspondent states that a sensational discovery has been made showing that the Customs Department had been defrauded of millions of dollars for years. Large silk importers bribed the Customs examiners to overlook consignments, especially those from Japan.
