QUEENSLAND FINANCES.

BRISBANE. August 1. The Financial Statement shows that the revenue for the year was £4,327,000, which fell short of the estimate by £267,000, due to the drought and other causes which reduced the revenue and added to the expenditure. The latter amounted to £4,855.000. The deficiency will be covered by TVcasury bills with ten years’ currency. No action will be taken regarding the imposition of an income tax until after the Federal tariff is passed. There will be no further taxation at present, except to increase the stamp duty on receipts to one penny on sums of 10s up to £l. and 2d above that. The revenue for next year is estimated at £3,908,000, and the expenditure, at £3,887,000.
