FATE OF THE WOLVERINE.

A letter has been received in Dundein from Mr J. Gordon, engineer in the refrigerating department of the s.s. Nairnshire, which clears up the fate of the auxiliary vessel Wolverine, ■which disappeared while on a voyage from Auckland to the Bluff. The writer states that on the second day out from Wellington (29th Dec), when about 170 miles from New Zealand, they passed the schooner Wolverine floating bottom up. She had evidently capsized, one side of her being above the water. When within fifty yards of her he read on her stern " Wolverine, Invercargill." Her cabin was closed and the writer states that once, while passing, he sighted her propeller.
