Pembroke.

(tAKE COUNTY PIIKSS- CORRESPONDENT) April 6. Harvest operations in this district ape now completed. On the whole the yield this, year has been excep tioually good. Threshing is now being vigorously carried- on. The Spinsters' Bali is announced for Wednesday next, when, a large gathering is anticipated. I am sure the affair will be a big success, as the young ladies are sparing n.o trouble to make all arrangements perfect. A concert in aid of the Brunner- disaster fund is also announced for the same oveningThe return cricket match,. Oardror.a v. Wanaka is to be played on the latter’s ground on Wednesday next. Tbe-e clubs have now played three matches this season, and Gardrona has always proved too many, but wc hope to. see a better contested game next Wednesday. By the way I noticed in the Wakatipu Mail of 2.7 th March, in Cardroua notes, ‘'Their Own ” Commenting on the recent match (Arrow v Card non a), says “The game was of a thorough! amicable nature throughout and there was no strong party feeling, as when the Pembroke and Oardrona teams met ” Now, these remarks are quite uncalled for, and are likely to cause “party feeling” between the clubs. The three gaiut-s played this season were played in a very friendly

statement should appear in print. If the Wakatipu Mail s con esponpent would attend to the business of his club thereby saving the Wanaka club expense and annoyance, it would be much to his credit, but no, he has petty animosity against one or two members of the club, and is not manly enough to attack tliem personally, but he must renounce the “ unfortunate ” club. FOR LASSITUDE, TORPIDITY, SOUR STOMACH, INDIGESTION, HEADACHE, ' BACKACHE, Ac., Take a couple of Fletcher’s Pills every second night; they are a prompt and sure cure and give certain relief. FLETCHER’S PILLS are a quick sure and reliable remedy for all complaints arising fro.n torpid liver, indigestion, weak stomach, and impurities of the blood. They are prepared on rational and sensible lines and do not contain a particle of calonu 1, gamboge, or any drastic purgative, but operate by perfectly natural means by stimulating the liver and increasing the flow of bile and thus pioducing easy evacuations and natural catharses without the annoyance and pain ot griping and purging. Beware of the many harmful substitutes on sale in many shops. None are genuine unless thay bear tho signature of F. Moore Clements on the outside wrapper. CLEMENTS TONIC and FLETCHER’S PILLS have benome such household words that imitations are frequently offered. We contend that this imitation is the sincereat proof of their virtues, so see that yon always get the genuine, bearing the name and address of K M. Clements, Newtowa, Sydney.
